The Effective Supervisory Skills workshop demonstrates how supervisors play a key role in any organization, how they are responsible for creating a link between upper management and frontline employees, and how they have a dramatic impact on employee performance and behavior. This workshop will teach you:

 

This module is designed to prepare new supervisors for the transition into leadership roles in their organizations by introducing:
  • - Competencies necessary to be successful in a leadership role
  • - Legal guidelines to minimize or prevent organizational liabilities
  • - Leadership and vision
  • - Skills for motivating others
The module is delivered in a safe, high-energy, fun environment.  It sets the groundwork, in stages, for the participants to acknowledge the effect that the supervisory role can have on employee morale and organizational effectiveness, with a corresponding impact on the bottom line.  Participants will create an Action Plan and a Performance Plan for use in their professional and personal development.
 
Each participant will receive four hours of workshop instruction, a workbook and an online training module that is good for up to a year to be used as a refresher or to further enhance skills.  Participants are also welcome to participate in the same workshop the following year or anytime it is offered in the future, as a refresher.

 

Your Instructor:

 

Jo Dee Martinez has been an active participant and student in business for over 20 years.  She has a bachelors degree in business administration and a masters in business administration with an emphasis in technology management. Jo Dee’s career began in the investment industry.  She also spent over 15 years in credit unions and has held senior leadership positions over information technology, strategic projects, lending, retail delivery and call centers.  She has successfully led numerous projects and change initiatives including a knowledge management strategy, project management methodology, performance management strategy and various new product development initiatives.

 

Jo Dee is passionate about developing organizations and people and has a successful track record of developing strategies and empowering and aligning people to achieve the strategic priorities of the organization. Jo Dee is currently the owner of Gemini Business Performance Solutions, an organizational development and consulting business that focuses on developing high performance organizations.  She partnered with organizational development experts from the 360 Solutions group to provide world-class training and development opportunities in New Mexico, that have been successfully implemented for over two decades in fortune 500 companies throughout the world.
